A Study on the Effect of Argon Laser Trabeculoplasty for Open Angle Glaucoma

Abstract

|
Eleven phakic eres with uncontolled open angle glaucoma, under went 180 degree argen laser trateculoplasty(ALT) to the anterior portion of the trabecular meshwork. The mean rate of pressure redction was 17.25% and success rate was 72.72%. The ALT caused serious complications in none of the 11 eyes. Failure was seen in secondary open angle glaucoma to angle recess and uveitis. The patients over 40 rears had a success rate that was better than that in patients below 40 years. Additional ALT (2 eyes) was not effective.
